Studies were conducted by plastic surgeons and urologists from the Naval and Veterans Hospital in Athens to find out the level of satisfaction that men experienced after penis enlargement surgery. The results of the study were published in the journal European Urology. The study indicated that majority of the men found a significant improvement in self esteem though the surgery had not done to improve the size of the penis. Studies were conducted on men who were suffering from a psychological condition known as penile dysmorphophobia. Men suffering from this disorder believe that the penis size is too small but the fact is that the size is adequate under normal conditions.    
 
Studies for men who underwent threes types of penis enlargement surgery showed that 50 percent of men had gone for penile lengthening, 30 percent the men had opted for shaft thickening and  20 percent of the man had opted for penile lengthening and surgery which involved removal of excess fat from the pubic area. There were no complications reported by doctors whatsoever during and after the penis enlargement surgeries and all the patients recovered soon after without any complications. The men were then asked to fill a questionnaire to help evaluate the psychological outcomes post surgery. 
 
Studies conducted revealed that the average gain in length of the penis was 1.6 cm with the greatest increase being 2.3 cm. However the increase in penis size failed to fulfill the expectations that the patients had before the surgery. The average gain in circumference was about 2.3 cm around the base and 206 cm below the head of the penis. Hence the modest size increase is a big disappointment but researchers say that the patient’s self esteem and actual sexual performance improved by almost 91 percent. Hence augmentation phalloplasty has turned out to be a decent option for men who suffer from small penis size or erectile dysfunction.     

Hence we see that most likely you are having a normal sized penis. In fact there have been hundreds of men who have got their penis measured by a doctor as they lived in constant fear that their penis was small but in fact their penis size was within the normal range. The doctors advised them not to worry about their penis and just have confidence to satisfy their partners. That way they are going to have an extremely satisfying sex life as well as bear normal children also.
